Up in the cold by my side in time
i groan and yawn, frown into her face
sweetly she smiles,as though nothing happened
i fail to get it, why all the enthusiasm?
A table ready set, clothes clean on the line
she sits me through breakfast as if it hurts not
a sleepy yawn she stiffles,my work we review
i fail to get it, is it all a must?
Dawn to dusk i plode, because so she said
math makes no sense, grammer is absurd
the sight of home welcomes, a deep sigh of relief
i fail to get it, is there no other way?
On and on she urges, never missing a beat
doesnt matter my level with care she approaches
eyes open, ears hear, i get the gist
i start to get it , mommy meant something
My chin itches,an idle scratch to give
responsibilities amass yet very disposable
thanks to she, of her enthusiasm i reap
i now get it , she had the best in mind
