He stood aloof
In reach of the view
Just far enough to avoid the hoof
Neither conforming to the many - or the few
Shunning the desolate, forlorn of the mood

Patiently waiting for the noise to hear
The encouraging chirp, a confirmation of day
Waiting to see, the golden shine yonder
Casting silhouettes of the eager melody makers

at the place
where no additives spike the dark
